Cheap-and-Daily vs OneDayShop: copies mean “you are successful”

Cheap-and-Daily, already covered by us last month, is web-shop that offers each day one item at the lowest possible price in limited quantities. It was launched on the 15th of December and yesterday appreared the first copy – onedayshop.ru. It has the same business model as CnD as well as the look.

onedayshop

In the Russian web world, when your project is copied it means that it is successful or at least looks like a successful one.

I was interested to know if the Woot.com business model actually works in Russia and I contacted CnD CEO Elena Masolova. By her words, they are selling unpredictable amount of items per day. If they manage to target the current audience of CnD, they minimum can sell 30 items and up to 120. Profit is 5-30 dollars per each sale. So the business model actually works, though CnD is far from the “Woot” success.

Well the original on Russian market was 1 sale.ru, who copied woot.com in 2005. But they’re dead now, couldn’t manage to provide really good offer for each day.

Here’s much more interesting competitor, who states that the business model CnD uses needs to be reviewed according to russian market. http://cheap-and-weekly.ru

“One week – one deal” is much more interesting for suppliers (more sales) so as for clients, who can discuss the offer online and receive feedbacks while the offer is still available. And technically speaking – search engines would have enough time to index new content to give more visitors.

I’ve seen hundreds copycaters who overcame the originals with more thorough approach and attention to details (Sure, CnW has it).

    http://cheap-and-weekly.ru – full shit.

Dear Ivan, this is not the right place to be offensive. Choose other places for that, thank you.

The article doesn’t make any sence – cheap-and-daily.ru themself copied 1sale.ru which didn’t succeed much.

And 1sale.ru is not Michael Jackson, who can be considered as successful even after he’s dead.

We are writing about projects that are active right now.
Developers of Cheap-and-daily.ru use social media and twitter to get clients, that is main difference from 1sale.ru.

Also i believe that 1sale.ru was launched before “its time”.
